KARACHI: Mujadid Sabri and Aun Sabri, sons of slain Pakistani Sufi singer Amjad Sabri paid tribute to their father in Karachi and broke into tears while reciting the last Kalam of their father.

At a recent gathering, Amjad’ son recited Karam Maangta Hoon and took everyone’s breath away with not just his mesmerising and powerful voice but also the flawless delivery of one of his father’s iconic works. Amjad Sabri is no more but he will never be forgotten. While expressing grief on Amjad’s untimely death, Abida Parveen had said, “Amjad Sabri was a living legend and there cannot ever be another Amjad. However, I pray to God that he produces another Amjad Sabri in one of his sons so that the message of God is not lost.”

And it appears that her prayer has been answered. The legacy of the great Sabri brothers will, after all, continue to be taken forward as is evident from Amjad’s son paying a heartfelt tribute to his father.
